Taylor Street Elementary School Reviews

Personally, I do not consider three out of five stars an adequate rating. Curriculum is taught and designed for a minimum standard of achievement, the kind that trains kids to reach for only for exactly is required with no motivation to exceed standards. My experience thus far has basically been one where both the teachers and administrators are either unfamiliar with state mandates regarding gifted and talented, or they are gatekeeping. I cannot really decide which would be better; I suspect they are stuck philosophically in an educational system that ceased to exist at least several decades ago. The teacher/administrator dictates the culture and curriculum and both students and parents abide by those rules. At best, I consider this school mediocre daycare.

Both my children went to taylor street.I found that the things they should pay attention to they dont.As far as special classes they do not pay attention i would not recommend this scholl. The only thing they seem to be interested in is showing off tier arts and crafts instead of the positive learning that they lack.I just don't agree with a lot of the things that school focused on.The sports teams are excellent if that the only thing your interested in.

Two of my children went to this school for 5 years, combined. They had a good experience there and loved going to school. Academically, I think that they were challenged, for the most part. The arts and sports programs were good and there were many before and after school extra-curricular activities available. The music program left a lot to be desired. Overall, it is a good school and I would recommend it. It is in a poor district and there are many transient families; people come and go so that is a deterrent.

My child is enrolled in Taylor Street and I have negative feelings about his educational surroudings. I find that important issues are not reported as well as conflicts with other children. I am not sure if this is the Teachers lack of consideration or the districts, but my intentions are to remove my child from this school as soon as possible.
